The assistant professor seemed a bit hurried, though he still waited until all the students had showed up before he started handing out instructions for each of his courses. He was a bit irritated by the schedule of this term, given that the field trips earlier had been a bit... inconvenient. How he would shove an entire year's worth of learning into two terms was beyond him, but he'd figure it out eventually.
"My name is Oleander. I'm the assistant professor of Hexing... which you should be aware of, considering you're in this building." He squinted at the students. "Here, with me, you will learn some of the basics of hexing. This knowledge will pad your experience, and permit you to succeed in more difficult courses, so try to pay attention."
CRS 101: Introduction to Dollmaking
Oleander says:
"In this class, we're going to learn about voodoo dolls." His eyes grew dark for a moment as he pulled a couple of small dolls out of his jacket, showing them off to the students.
"So, if you already know? This is CRS 101, which is about Introduction to Dollmaking. If you know anything about hexing, you've probably heard of voodoo dolls before. It's a basic type of sympathetic magic where you infuse a doll with a part of the person's body, then it allows you to make a magical connection to the person."
He turned around and picked up a box. Inside was an abundance of fabric, sewing needles, and thread. "The first thing you're going to do is sew a doll. I want you to design it after yourself, because by testing a doll of yourself, you'll know if your magic succeeded at the end of the term. And then you'll have the knowledge to fuck over your enemies, and I'll know you were successful."
